Building a home from an empty lot is a different project than renovating an existing one. It still asks for the same thing underneath: a builder who can look at a set of plans — or an idea that is not plans yet — and say plainly what is involved before ground breaks.

In Sarasota and Manatee counties that includes Gulf Coast conditions from the foundation up: humidity, storm exposure, elevation and flood requirements where they apply, and code that has to be coordinated early. PrimeEdge builds qualifying custom residential homes within the scope of its Florida Certified Residential Contractor license.

Peter Basta brings more than twenty-five years of residential construction experience to PrimeEdge Construction. That experience predates the company. It includes his earlier construction career in New Jersey and legitimate Florida and coastal work since. PrimeEdge is owner-led and intentionally hands-on. Peter personally evaluates each project and remains directly involved through construction. His primary role is leading and overseeing the project. He also stays hands-on in the field and will step into the work when something requires his particular experience or skill. Clients have direct access to Peter, with Marissa supporting communication, coordination, estimates and proposals, permitting, and company operations. Depending on the project and the client’s needs, that communication may run through Peter, Marissa, or both.

Why Choose PrimeEdge Construction for Your Custom Home

A custom home is the longest project most homeowners will ever commission. Peter walks the lot or reviews the site in person. A conversation about the property, the plans, and the budget starts with what can actually be evaluated at that stage. When the scope is clear enough, preliminary pricing may be discussed. Other builds need design input, engineering, trade pricing, or further investigation before a number can be honest.

The owner who evaluates the project is the owner who stays on it through construction — leading and overseeing the build, and stepping in when something requires his hands.

Bring your designer, or lean on our guidance. Either way, the vision is yours and the execution is ours. Clients may bring an architect, designer, engineer, or completed plans, or come with an early idea and have PrimeEdge coordinate the appropriate design professionals.

PrimeEdge works from the approved plans and project scope while coordinating with the homeowner and design professionals when field conditions, code, engineering, or other project considerations require clarification or adjustment.

PrimeEdge Construction is licensed and insured in Florida — CRC1334994. Established crews and trade partners perform the specialized work the project requires. PrimeEdge values long-term client relationships. Some clients return for additional work, and some relationships continue after the project is finished.

Custom Home Building Solutions for Sarasota Homeowners

A custom home is a chain of decisions: a foundation choice that constrains a floor plan, a floor plan that constrains a roofline, a roofline that constrains what may be possible later. PrimeEdge coordinates those decisions across the approved plans, construction requirements, selections, and budget.

Work is coordinated across established crews, specialized trades, suppliers, and the appropriate design and engineering professionals. Material and construction decisions are made with Gulf Coast conditions in mind when they apply to the property and scope. Selections are guided as the project develops, with samples brought to the homeowner when that helps.

Design-Build From the Ground Up

PrimeEdge can take a project from early concepts through plans, permitting, and construction, working with the architect and engineering professionals so construction requirements are in the plan from the beginning. Clients who already have an architect, engineer, designer, or completed plans are equally welcome. PrimeEdge can step in at that stage and carry the project through construction. Either way, design and construction stay coordinated.

Our Custom Home Building Process

Every project is different. PrimeEdge’s process generally moves through seven key stages, from the first conversation through completion. The same framework is described in more detail on our seven-stage build process page.

  1. First Contact — PrimeEdge is owner-led and built around direct client communication. Depending on the project and the client’s needs, that first conversation may be with Peter, Marissa, or both.
  2. Consultation — Peter walks the property or lot in person and evaluates the site, existing plans, and project scope. Preliminary pricing may be discussed when the scope is clear enough. Other projects require additional investigation, trade input, or design and engineering input first.
  3. Proposal — Following the walkthrough, PrimeEdge prepares a detailed written proposal outlining the project scope and pricing. We review it with you, answer questions, and adjust as the scope is finalized.
  4. Pre-Construction — Permitting requirements, key selections, structural considerations, and longer-lead materials are identified as early as reasonably possible. Known permitting requirements are coordinated before construction begins.
  5. Construction — Clients have direct access to Peter throughout construction, with Marissa supporting communication, coordination, and operations. Clean, orderly jobsites are a PrimeEdge standard. The crews and trades on each project protect the home and leave work areas clean and organized at the end of the day. When an unexpected condition arises, PrimeEdge communicates it clearly, explains the available options, and helps determine the path forward.
  6. Completion — The finished work is reviewed with the homeowner, either in person or through direct communication when circumstances require it. Remaining punch-list items are documented and addressed as part of closeout. The completed space is thoroughly cleaned before final completion.
  7. Aftercare — Every PrimeEdge project is backed by a one-year workmanship warranty, along with the applicable manufacturer warranties on the materials and products used in the project.

A Home Built Around How You Actually Live

A generic custom home repeats a floor plan across lots and changes the elevation. PrimeEdge is interested in the other kind: a house planned from the foundation through the finish selections for one property and one household. Peter stays on the build as the owner who evaluated it — leading and overseeing the work, and stepping in himself when something requires his hands.
