In an older Sarasota home, the kitchen is often the room that never quite caught up — closed off from the rest of the house, planned around original plumbing and walls that were never drawn for an open plan. In newer communities such as Lakewood Ranch and Palmer Ranch, the kitchen is usually already open and bright. It can still be laid out for a generic household rather than the one that lives there.
A kitchen renovation is not only new cabinets. It is layout, storage, plumbing, electrical, and how the room actually gets used — planned as one project, not a stack of separate decisions.
Peter Basta brings more than twenty-five years of residential construction experience to PrimeEdge Construction. That experience predates the company. It includes his earlier construction career in New Jersey and legitimate Florida and coastal work since. PrimeEdge is owner-led and intentionally hands-on. Peter personally evaluates each project and remains directly involved through construction. His primary role is leading and overseeing the project. He also stays hands-on in the field and will step into the work when something requires his particular experience or skill. Clients have direct access to Peter, with Marissa supporting communication, coordination, estimates and proposals, permitting, and company operations. Depending on the project and the client’s needs, that communication may run through Peter, Marissa, or both.
Why Choose PrimeEdge Construction for Your Kitchen Renovation
The estimate starts in the kitchen, not on a spec sheet. Peter walks the room, reads the existing structure and plumbing from a construction perspective, and listens to how the space is used. When the scope is clear enough, preliminary pricing may be part of that conversation. Other kitchens need more investigation, trade input, selections, or scope development before a number can be honest.
The person evaluating the project is the same owner who stays on it through construction — leading the work, and stepping in when something needs him in the field. You are not handed off after the walkthrough.
Bring your designer, or lean on our guidance. Either way, the vision is yours and the execution is ours. Clients arrive with an idea, with completed plans, or with a designer already on the team. PrimeEdge can coordinate the appropriate design professionals when that help is useful.
PrimeEdge builds according to the approved plans and project scope. When field conditions require a question or an adjustment, that is coordinated with the homeowner and the appropriate design professionals. Selections are guided as the project develops. Samples are often brought to the home. Custom cabinetry and countertops are part of many kitchen renovations; they are features of the work, not a separate service.
PrimeEdge Construction is licensed and insured in Florida — CRC1334994. Established crews and trade partners perform the specialized work the project requires. PrimeEdge values long-term client relationships. Some clients return for additional work, and some relationships continue after the project is finished.
Kitchen Renovation Solutions for Sarasota Homeowners
A kitchen takes more daily use than almost any other room. Planning, materials, and workmanship have to hold up to that.
Where the structure and approved plans allow, that can mean opening a wall, joining the kitchen to the room beside it, moving an island to where people actually gather, or reworking a galley into a more usable plan. New cabinetry and countertops are a prominent part of many PrimeEdge kitchen renovations because they change storage, layout, organization, and appearance at once. Those pieces are coordinated with plumbing, electrical, tile, fixtures, and the rest of the scope. If an existing element is staying, the renovation is planned around it.
A full renovation in an older Sarasota home and a more targeted update in a newer property are different jobs. Both are planned around the actual house, the approved scope, and what the work requires.
Selections and Timing
Cabinetry — especially custom or special-order cabinetry — can be a longer-lead part of a kitchen renovation. PrimeEdge works to identify cabinetry direction early so ordering can move with the project schedule, while recognizing that manufacturer, supplier, customization, and availability still affect timing. Countertops, plumbing fixtures, tile, and other selections are coordinated as the project develops. Where allowances are used, they are clearly identified in the proposal.

Our Kitchen Renovation Process
Every project is different. PrimeEdge’s process generally moves through seven key stages, from the first conversation through completion. The same framework is described in more detail on our seven-stage renovation process page.
- First Contact — PrimeEdge is owner-led and built around direct client communication. Depending on the project and the client’s needs, that first conversation may be with Peter, Marissa, or both.
- Consultation — Peter walks the kitchen in person and evaluates existing conditions from a construction perspective. Preliminary pricing may be discussed when the scope is clear enough. Other projects require additional investigation before pricing can be finalized.
- Proposal — Following the walkthrough, PrimeEdge prepares a detailed written proposal outlining the project scope and pricing. We review it with you, answer questions, and adjust as the scope is finalized.
- Pre-Construction — Cabinetry direction, key selections, and longer-lead materials are identified as early as reasonably possible. Known permitting requirements are coordinated before construction begins.
- Construction — Clients have direct access to Peter throughout construction, with Marissa supporting communication, coordination, and operations. Clean, orderly jobsites are a PrimeEdge standard. The crews and trades on each project protect the home and leave work areas clean and organized at the end of the day. When an unexpected condition arises, PrimeEdge communicates it clearly, explains the available options, and helps determine the path forward.
- Completion — The finished work is reviewed with the homeowner, either in person or through direct communication when circumstances require it. Remaining punch-list items are documented and addressed as part of closeout. The completed space is thoroughly cleaned before final completion.
- Aftercare — Every PrimeEdge project is backed by a one-year workmanship warranty, along with the applicable manufacturer warranties on the materials and products used in the project.
A Kitchen Built Around How You Actually Live
A generic kitchen could belong to anyone. PrimeEdge builds the kitchen that belongs to this house and this household. Peter stays on the project as the owner who evaluated it — leading and overseeing the work, and stepping in himself when something requires his hands. Established crews and trade partners carry out the specialized trades.

Following the walkthrough, PrimeEdge prepares a detailed written proposal outlining scope and pricing. Costs vary with scope, cabinetry line, and material selections. Every kitchen is estimated individually.
Timelines depend on scope, selections, product availability, permitting, and project conditions. Custom and special-order cabinetry can be a longer-lead component, so cabinetry direction is identified early. When existing cabinetry or appliances are being replaced, demolition and removal are part of the renovation scope.
Yes. A kitchen renovation can stand on its own. PrimeEdge’s primary focus is residential renovations, additions, and larger construction projects. There is no requirement to bundle.
